A little about The Plough
The Plough is a stylish pub, bar and restaurant located in the village of Fen Ditton, Cambridge. Offering fine dining, an impressive drinks menu, and stunning interiors within a unique setting, The Plough is the perfect spot to enjoy drinks with friends, a meal for two, or a delicious family roast.
Spanning two acres, our beautiful beer garden and terrace area offers alfresco dining, sun-kissed drinking, and spectacular views over the River Cam.
Developed by our supremely talented chefs, our extensive menu offers something for everyone, whatever the occasion – from light lunch time dishes and sharing platters, though to classic main dishes, freshly made pizzas, and hand made burgers.
Perfect for any occasion
We’re family friendly so feel free to bring your little ones and if you require wheelchair access that isn’t a problem. If you’re driving, we have a convenient onsite car park that will allow you to park securely.
The Plough is located in Fen Ditton, a small village to the north east of Cambridge, just outside the city boundary.
We’re accessible by road, rail, and foot. For drivers, Fenn Ditton is located on the road that runs from Cambridge to Clayhithe, and close to junction 34 of the A14. If you’re travelling by rail, the nearest stations are Cambridge and Waterbeach.
Fen Ditton is perhaps best known for The Bumps – the annual rowing races held on the river Cam each year. And, set right next to the river, The Plough offers front row seats. So grab your friends and a glass of Pimm’s and enjoy the excitement of the races from our beautiful beer garden.

Keeping Busy in Fen Ditton
The Plough is located close to the historic city of Cambridge, making it the perfect stop off point if you’re travelling to or from this iconic city. Cambridge offers a whole host of attractions to keep you entertained, including the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Museum of Cambridge, Cambridge Corn Exchange and, of course, the world famous University.
If you’re planning a day out in the area, why not visit Anglesey Abbey, Gardens, and Lode Mill? Located just 5.5 miles to the north east of Cambridge, this National Trust site is home to 98 acres of landscape grounds that are perfect for exploring, the fully restored and functioning Lode Water Mill, and a grand county house. Once you’ve finished exploring the house and gardens, make sure you pay The Plough a visit to finish off your day with a delicious, freshly prepared meal in stylish surroundings.
